20 years ago, I got a strange call from my brother. He told me his job was looking for a termite inspector and that I’d be perfect for it.
The timing was right, and I was looking to make a change, so I decided to give it a try.
Before I knew it, I was a licensed termite inspector. Over the years, I learned every aspect of the business, but I also learned that pest control has a lot of problems that have nothing to do with bugs.
Soon, I figured out that I was working for the enemy. The company was owned by a big national corporation, and I got a front row seat to a show called “how to take advantage of customers.”
From overcharging to not caring and everything in between, I learned that not everybody wants to solve problems. Instead of focusing on helping the customer, they were much more worried about making money.
They used every underhanded trick and gimmick you could think of. Inflated bills, extra services, and wasted visits were just the start. In the time I worked for that company, I can’t tell you how many times I saw something that made my Spidey senses tingle.
In 2019, I finally had enough. I loved helping people and solving problems, but I couldn’t turn a blind eye to all the shenanigans for one more day.
My family had always taught me that if I didn’t like something, then I should do something about it.
So I cashed in my 401k, bought a truck, started this business, and I’ve never looked back. I didn’t have a business plan or anything else for that matter, but I did have one thing that these big companies never will.
We do great work for a fair price.
I know when you search for pest control in Kaufman, you’ve got a lot of choices, but there’s one thing the internet can’t tell you, and that’s who cares and who’s just in it for the money.
If the idea of hiring a company that’s nothing like our competition, then consider this an invitation to see what we’re about. We may not be fancy, but I can tell you there’s a reason why our customers keep coming back and telling their friends and neighbors about us.
See for yourself that smaller can be better.
Sincerely,

Eleanor Haynes

Give a local business the gift of the spotlight. Let us know what sets them apart, and we just might feature them in our next edition.

We interview each business owner. We take into account how long they’ve been in business, how much experience they have, what sets them apart, and what customers are saying.
Yes. We keep track of all nominations, but we get so many that there just isn’t a way to feature everyone. If a business gets multiple nominations, we’ll certainly take notice and give them proper consideration.
Just ask. We can send you a beautiful framed copy of your feature that you’d be proud to hang on any wall. Fill out the form above or send an email to
Size doesn’t matter here. Quality is what we’re after. We’re looking for exceptional businesses that go above and beyond serving their community, regardless of their size.
Yes, but it will be tough to get featured. Our judges prefer to see some experience and a proven track record before being recognized
