The right teacher made all the difference. When I finished my service in the Army, I took a chance and got a job working with a Master Arborist.
I knew nothing about trees, but he was a great teacher.
When I say I didn’t know anything about trees, I’m not kidding one bit.
But we got along really well. I learned fast, and he had enough patience to put up with me.
After a year, I got recruited by a bigger company to run their crew, and before I knew it, 15 years had gone by, and I realized I had learned just about everything a person could about the tree business.
A new adventure was just beginning. After years of saving money and buying tools, I was ready to go out on my own.
If you have a tree problem, we can fix it. If you need some new trees, we can plant them. If you need a tree removed, we can handle that too, and just about anything you can dream up as far as trees are concerned.
I live in the area, and my crew is from this area. We do honest work with no salespeople, gimmicks, or weird coupons.
Now that we all have computers in our pockets, you can find all sorts of companies, but what that screen won’t tell you is who’s good and who’s bad.

How do you make your final selections?
We interview each business owner. We take into account how long they’ve been in business, how much experience they have, what sets them apart, and what customers are saying.
Can we nominate a business again if they don’t get selected the first time?
Yes. We keep track of all nominations, but we get so many that there just isn’t a way to feature everyone. If a business gets multiple nominations, we’ll certainly take notice and give them proper consideration.

Size doesn’t matter here. Quality is what we’re after. We’re looking for exceptional businesses that go above and beyond serving their community, regardless of their size.
Can we nominate a startup?
Yes, but it will be tough to get featured. Our judges prefer to see some experience and a proven track record before being recognized
