Local Heroes Wanted | Business Spotlight Project Logo

After 16 years of learning this business from the inside out, I cashed in my 401k and never looked back.

I’m not kidding when I say inside out. I started working at the counter of a big supply house. What I didn’t realize at the time was that there was a part of this industry that made me sick.

For every licensed and insured company trying to do the right thing, it seems like there are 10 unlicensed cowboys making big promises, doing bad work, and taking advantage of people.

The big companies and national chains aren’t much better. Fancy commercials, ridiculous coupons, and paperwork that would make a lawyer blush is just the beginning with those guys.

The more I learned about how this business worked, the more I wanted to go out on my own and do things the right way. And that’s just what I did.

After the supply house, I went to trade school, came up as an apprentice, and got promoted fast. Over the years, I’ve worked on everything from huge commercial systems to tiny homes.

One of the first calls after we opened let me know I made the right decision. I went out to give a second opinion after somebody else insisted the customer’s system couldn’t be fixed.

I’ll never forget what I saw that day. It looked like the wires had been chewed by an animal, and there was oil all over the place. It sure looked bad, but I saw something else altogether.

Sabotage.

The other company did a good job making things look worse than they really were. There was no leak. The oil that was all over the place was put there on purpose to scare the customer.

I replaced some wires, cleaned up the mess, and left with a story can’t forget. What I’d like to tell you is that it was an isolated incident, but that wouldn’t be the truth.

Over the years, we’ve fixed so many messes left by other companies that I stopped counting. If you want to know the secret to our success, it’s not really a secret.

We treat everyone like family, answer questions in plain English, and work for a fair price.

That’s why we’ve been growing every year. From the moment you call us, you’ll realize we’re nothing like other companies, and that’s something I’ll always be proud of.

Consider this an invitation to see why our customers share our number with their friends and neighbors. We might not be superheroes, but we’re the best choice for comfort in San Antonio by a country mile.

Sincerely,

Over the years, we’ve fixed so many messes left by other companies that I stopped counting. If you want to know the secret to our success, it’s not really a secret.

Give a local business the gift of the spotlight. Let us know what sets them apart, and we just might feature them in our next edition.

    questions
    & answers

How do you make your final selections?

We interview each business owner. We take into account how long they’ve been in business, how much experience they have, what sets them apart, and what customers are saying.

Can we nominate a business again if they don’t get selected the first time?

Yes. We keep track of all nominations, but we get so many that there just isn’t a way to feature everyone. If a business gets multiple nominations, we’ll certainly take notice and give them proper consideration.

We were featured. How can we get a hard copy?

Just ask. We can send you a beautiful framed copy of your feature that you’d be proud to hang on any wall. Fill out the form above or send an email to

What if a business is really small?

Size doesn’t matter here. Quality is what we’re after. We’re looking for exceptional businesses that go above and beyond serving their community, regardless of their size.

    Can we nominate a startup?

Yes, but it will be tough to get featured. Our judges prefer to see some experience and a proven track record before being recognized
