When Ronald Smith lost his job, he and his wife, Samantha, took their life savings and did what any reasonable couple would have done. They started a company, and they’ve never looked back.

I guess you could say we turned lemons into lemonade because Ronald spent his whole career as a master electrician working for other people. When he got sick, we didn’t know what we were gonna do, so we took a leap of faith.

And it worked.

Ronald’s family has been in the electric trade in one way or another, going as far back as anyone can remember. It’s work he always enjoyed doing until he got sick and got laid off.

“In 2019, we had a tough choice to make, and I’m glad we made the right one.” Ronald still works plenty of hours, and Samantha takes care of the office, which gives them time to focus on the single most important rule they live by.

I figure there’s enough work out there, and if we focus on making the customer happy, people will tell their friends and neighbors about us.

And it’s working.

Give every customer a great experience.

No matter how big or small the job is, we want the customer to feel like we genuinely care. Because we do. You’d be surprised how many problems melt away when you show up on time, treat people fairly, and do great work.

While Ronald is always learning new things, training staff, and managing jobs, Samantha is handling the paperwork and a lot more.

She taught herself how to use social media and juggles the phones like she has eight arms.

They’re doing something right because the community loves them and each year brings more business. They recently expanded their staff and put another truck on the road, which is a good sign by any measure.

Since we’re the only company in the area solely focused on residential, that really sets us apart. While other companies are off doing big commercial jobs, people know they can count on us to be there when they need us.

When customers refer their friends and neighbors to us, it makes us feel like we’re doing something right. When customers keep coming back year after year, we know it’s more than a feeling.

Sincerely,

No matter how big or small the job is, we want the customer to feel like we genuinely care. Because we do.

Give a local business the gift of the spotlight. Let us know what sets them apart, and we just might feature them in our next edition.

    questions
    & answers

How do you make your final selections?

We interview each business owner. We take into account how long they’ve been in business, how much experience they have, what sets them apart, and what customers are saying.

Can we nominate a business again if they don’t get selected the first time?

Yes. We keep track of all nominations, but we get so many that there just isn’t a way to feature everyone. If a business gets multiple nominations, we’ll certainly take notice and give them proper consideration.

We were featured. How can we get a hard copy?

Just ask. We can send you a beautiful framed copy of your feature that you’d be proud to hang on any wall. Fill out the form above or send an email to

What if a business is really small?

Size doesn’t matter here. Quality is what we’re after. We’re looking for exceptional businesses that go above and beyond serving their community, regardless of their size.

    Can we nominate a startup?

Yes, but it will be tough to get featured. Our judges prefer to see some experience and a proven track record before being recognized
