April 2026
In 2013, I had some big decisions to make. My first daughter was on the way, and bills were piling up.
A friend offered me an opportunity to work as his assistant, and I said yes before he could finish his sentence.
I always knew I wasn’t cut out for office work. I loved fixing things and working with my hands, but until that job offer came along, I really didn’t have a lot of direction.
The HVAC business was never even on my radar for a career. It turns out I really enjoyed the work and loved solving problems.
As my family grew, I knew I’d outgrow my job, so I started saving my pennies in hopes of going out on my own one day. After 10 years of learning and saving, I got the opportunity to buy a small company.
With my family’s life savings and the dream of building a better life, I got to work. I started with a beat-up truck and a garage filled with tools, and I’ve never regretted the decision for a single minute.
That was 3 years ago, and we’re doing something right because we keep growing and our customers tell their friends and neighbors about us.
When we go to pick up parts from the distributor, you come face to face with your competitors.
You notice who’s big and who’s small.
You notice whose got the coolest trucks.
You notice who cares and who doesn’t.
After picking up parts all these years, I can tell you one thing for sure. Not everybody cares about their customers. Sure, they care about getting paid, but there’s a culture in Garland of “do as many jobs as possible,” and it’s created a big problem.
Shortcuts.
Never in the history of the company have we had to go out and fix so many half-done jobs, shoddy work, and improperly installed systems.
The problem with the internet is that all you’ll see is star ratings, crazy coupons, and promises too good to be true. What we tell our customers is the same thing we’ve been saying since we rolled our first truck and sold that first system.
We may not be the biggest company, but our work is some of the best you’ll find in the area. Period.
Another thing worth mentioning is that we’re not plumbers or electricians. We do one thing, and we do it well. Since when is being great at what you do not enough?
It’s only a matter of time before the big companies we compete against are selling tacos and furniture.
We’re not trying to be all things to all people, and that’s good enough for us. Customers like that about us, and maybe that’s why we’re your best choice for comfort in Garland.
Sincerely,

Homer

Give a local business the gift of the spotlight. Let us know what sets them apart, and we just might feature them in our next edition.

We interview each business owner. We take into account how long they’ve been in business, how much experience they have, what sets them apart, and what customers are saying.
Yes. We keep track of all nominations, but we get so many that there just isn’t a way to feature everyone. If a business gets multiple nominations, we’ll certainly take notice and give them proper consideration.
Just ask. We can send you a beautiful framed copy of your feature that you’d be proud to hang on any wall. Fill out the form above or send an email to
Size doesn’t matter here. Quality is what we’re after. We’re looking for exceptional businesses that go above and beyond serving their community, regardless of their size.
Yes, but it will be tough to get featured. Our judges prefer to see some experience and a proven track record before being recognized
