Soon I was working with him full time and after 15 years of learning the business, I was ready to go out on my own.

As I was getting started he would loan me tools and answer questions and soon I had my own tools and a fleet of some of the nicest trucks in Houston.

The two most important things he taught me were to always make the customer happy and to buy the best equipment. 

He was right about both.
